Latest on Obamacare in the U.S. Senate

The office of the Senate Republican Leader, Mitch McConnell, from Kentucky, is doing an outstanding job in providing frequent daily updates on the Democrats' socialized medicine scheme, known around Washington D.C. and the country as ObamaCare.

For example, Christian Coalition of America was informed by Leader McConnell's office on Friday that the Senate is back on Health Care today and there are currently two pending amendments:

Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's amendment #2870 which is a Sense of the Senate on Social Security and CLASS Act surpluses
Republican Senator Orrin Hatch motion's to commit the bill to the Finance Committee to prevent the cuts to Medicare Advantage.
In addition, there are probably other votes on other amendments today and throughout this weekend... (Read More)

Contact Your Members of Congress and Tell Them to Stop the Obamacare Bill!

Barack Obama and the liberals in Congress are pushing for a drastic government takeover of our nation's health care system. And the only thing that can stop them is you!

Unless Americans take action immediately, this bill could become law in just a few months! But we can stop it. We simply must stand together and speak out with an overwhelming voice and say "NO"!

We can demand reform that focuses on empowering personal choice and freedom - not government... (Read More)

Politically-correct Navy Just as Bad as U.S. Army

It was only two weeks ago when the Capitol Hill Update on Christian Coalition of America's website blasted the United States Army in a posting entitled "Derelict Army generals need to prosecute in murder of unborn child" and prior to that, a posting on Veterans Day entitled: "No General Casey: 12 of your dead soldiers trumps 'diversity.'" These postings followed the assassination of 14 Americans at Ft. Hood, Texas -- by the radical Islamic terrorist, Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan -- including 12 soldiers, an unborn baby, and an Army civilian.

The United States Army had coddled this terrorist for almost a decade throughout all of his anti-American and radical Islamic rantings. Now, we discover the United States Navy is going down the same route as the Army as part of the Obama-led government's outreach to the Islamic world.

The Navy is court-martialing three Navy Seals (Petty Officer Matthew McCabe, Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe and Petty Officer Julio Huertas) who supposedly roughed up one of the world's most wanted terrorists by the name of Ahmed Hashim Abed... (Read More)

Some Interesting Poll Numbers

Despite the fact that he won Pennsylvania by ten points last year (after campaigning there 45 times), Barack Obama is finding the state to be a little less hospitable lately. The latest poll from that state shows Obama with only a 40% approval rating. Longtime Senator (and newly minted Democrat) Arlen Specter is at an amazingly low 29%, (66% say it's time for a new senator). It should also be noted that the Keystone State's unemployment numbers (at 8.4%) are two full points LOWER than the national average.

When you add this to the fact that voters in that just elected Republican judges in 6 out of 7 statewide races a few weeks ago, it looks like trouble on the 2010 horizon for Democrats there. And even though he's not on the ballot next year, it might be enough to give pro-life Democrat Senator Bob Casey something to think twice about when it comes to abortion and Obamacare...and how he votes.

And then there's the current keeper of Obamacare, otherwise known as Nevada US Senator Harry Reid, who's currently down by about ten points in the latest polls concerning next year's re-election bid... (Read More)

Political Roundup: 12-4-09

Who needs Washington?

Time magazine seems a bit surprised the fewer Americans want Washington's "help". In an article entitled "The End of Audacity", they cite a "startling" poll showing just that...

..In today's hard economic times, something startling began showing up in public-opinion polls: fewer people than in the past wanted Washington to step in. In the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, only 23% of respondents said they trust the government "always or most of the time"--the smallest proportion in 12 years... (Read More)

Is the Manhattan Declaration a Real Commitment for Signers?

Some of us have served time in a number of jails simply for saving the lives of unborn children from death in front of abortion mills and a few of us spent 40 days and 40 nights in the Atlanta jail system, in the same cellblock where Dr. Martin Luther King a couple decades earlier served time for also committing civil disobedience.

During the 1988 Democratic Party Convention, at which Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis accepted his party's nomination, some 120 or more pro-lifers were arrested in front of an Atlanta abortion "clinic" for blocking the entrances so that the abortionists could not kill the unborn babies of a number of mothers that day.

While these pro-life "rescuers" sat in jail for weeks for the crime of saving unborn babies from death (trespassing was the actual charge), the very few conservative media outlets in the country at that time broadcast and wrote about the plight of the jailed pro-lifers and thousands of other pro-lifers came to Atlanta and demonstrated and many joined the original pro-lifers in the Atlanta jail system by sitting in front of aborturaries, thus saving the lives of unborn babies...
