If Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney decide to run for president in 2012, they'll have some powerful friends in the early states that are key to winning the GOP nomination.

Mike Huckabee? Not so much.

All of it is part of the presidential election fallout from Tuesday’s primaries in Iowa and South Carolina, two states so pivotal in the GOP nomination process that even their off-year state elections are carefully examined for their relevance to the next presidential race.

The former Alaska governor is among the potential GOP contenders to challenge President Barack Obama in 2012 addressing the gathering of a few thousand Republican activists in Louisiana.

(CNSNews.com) -- Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” accused “FOX News Sunday” host Chris Wallace of rolling his eyes on-air after his interview with former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin this past Sunday. Wallace shot back at Scarborough on Thursday saying he did not roll his eyes and is “offended” that people watch Scarborough on MSNBC.

On the Feb. 8 edition of “Morning Joe,” Scarborough, a former U.S. representative of Florida, said Wallace rolled his eyes during a live shot in the studio after his interview with Palin.

“Look at the end of Chris Wallace’s interview [on Fox News Sunday] where he rolls his eyes, embarrassed,” said Scarborough. “There’s no doubt he is. Now, he will deny that.  read more »

Sarah Palin said President Obama needs to take a "do-over" on his choice for White House chief of staff, pressing Saturday for Rahm Emanuel's firing after he used the word "retarded" to lambast a group of Democrats in a strategy session last year.

Emanuel is known for his coarse tongue, but the remarks touched a nerve among disability advocate groups, as well as Palin, when it was reported last week. Emanuel swiftly apologized to Special Olympics head Tim Shriver and then convened a meeting with him and other disability groups at the White House.

But Palin, who has a baby with Down syndrome, told FoxNews.com that Emanuel should still be gone -- something she first called for on her Facebook page last week...

Rahm Emanuel, under fire for making an "f-ing retarded" comment during a strategy session months ago, met Wednesday at the White House with Special Olympics head Tim Shriver and other advocates for the disabled to try to quell the controversy.

The White House chief of staff issued the invitation last week after Shriver wrote him to protest the derogatory comment, reportedly made by Emanuel in reference to some liberal activists.

Also on hand for Wednesday’s mea culpa meeting were Andrew Imparato, president of the American Association of People with Disabilities; Ricardo Thornton, a Special Olympics athlete; and, Peter Berns of The Arc.

A new poll shows Republican voters are deeply divided over who they want to carry the party mantle in the 2012 presidential race. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin leads the pack, a couple other names are close behind and a whopping 42 percent of Republicans are listed as undecided.

The numbers suggest the 2012 presidential primary is any Republicans' game. Republicans are expecting to pick up a lot of seats in the congressional midterm elections, buoyed by success in the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial elections last year, and the Massachusetts Senate election last month. But while President Obama's approval ratings have dropped significantly since he took office, it's unclear who would be up to the task of challenging him...

Each of the potential challengers to pro-abortion President Barack Obama not only received hefty donations but also doled out money to pro-life candidates.

The associated with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 vice-presidential nominee, raised $1.4 million in the second half of last year and $2.1 million through all of 2009.

The records show most of the income coming in after she stepped down as the governor of Alaska to focus more time to speaking out on issues.

According to a filing made Saturday to the Federal Election Commission, Sarah PAC received most of its support by way of small donations...

Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel.

The network confirmed that Ms. Palin would appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multiyear deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ms. Palin will not have her own regular program, one person with knowledge of the deal said, though she will host a series that will run on the network from time to time. This person would not elaborate, but the network does have a precedent for such a series. Oliver L.
